You Lost The Game

But what exactly is “The Game”?

According to Wikipedia, “The Game is a mind game in which the objective is to avoid thinking about The Game itself. Thinking about The Game constitutes a loss, which must be announced each time it occurs.”

The rules are usually as follows:

  1. Everyone in the world is playing The Game. (This is alternatively expressed as, “Everybody in the world who knows about The Game is playing The Game” or “You are always playing The Game.”) A person cannot refuse to play The Game; it does not require consent to play and one can never stop playing.
  2. Whenever one thinks about The Game, one loses.
  3. Losses must be announced. This can be verbally, with a phrase such as “I just lost The Game”, or in any other way: for example, via Facebook or other social media. Some people may have ways to remind others of The Game. (Source: Wikipedia)

Can I win the game?

Generally, no. You are either “not losing,” or have just lost. And that’s okay!

How often can I lose?

You’re really caught up in the specifics, aren’t you? Let’s say about every 30 minutes, or as long as it might take you to forget about The Game for a while.

Can I just stop playing?

No. You know about The Game, so now you are playing The Game for the rest of your life.

Who created the game?

I don’t know, but I wish it was me.

Do you really pay for a website just for this?

Absolutely.

What do I do now?

Tell your friends! Tell your enemies! Make sure more people know about and lose The Game!

“I saw you at New York Comic Con!”

Awesome! If you lost the game because of me, please send me some hate mail at [email protected] or send me a direct message
